1 Chiropsalmus quadrumanus in coastal areas of the western Atlantic, from North Carolina in the USA to the Caribbean and as far as Venezuela and Brazil in the south.

 

2 Western, Northern and Eastern Australian coastal waters. Probably a wide distribution in other areas of the tropical and suptropical Pacific. Cases of envenoming involving an "Irukandji-like" syndrome (caused by other carybdeid jellyfish species) also known from New Guinea, Hawaii, the Chinese coast, northern Japan and Vladivostok.
